Dr. McGillicuddy will explain how Florida’s marine industries depend on healthy oceans, with tourism, fisheries, and coastal businesses all affected by threats like red tides and Sargassum blooms. He’ll highlight how scientific tools—satellites, algae monitoring, and ocean sensors—help predict and manage these risks and warns that cutting support for ocean science would leave Floridians more vulnerable.
